CORNERSTONE SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS: Gayle Wheat’s Class at 9:45 am in the “Parlor” across from the choir room

Choir Practice: Wednesday evenings at 6 pm and at 10:30 am on Sunday mornings in the choir room

Prayer Group: Thursday mornings at 9:30 am in the fellowship hall or the pastor’s study

MONTHLY MEETINGS AND EVENTS:

Third Sunday dinner after worship service in the fellowship hall, pot-luck unless otherwise announced

Women’s Circle: Daytime women meet on the 2^nd Tuesday of each month for a lesson at 10:30 am in the fellowship hall, followed by pot-luck lunch or otherwise announced. Evening women meet on the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the fellowship hall for lesson

Men’s Meetings: Men meet for breakfast at 7:30 on 2^nd Wednesday of each month for Breakfast. See Norm or Pastor Buddy for location

Session: Third Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the fellowship hall

OTHER CHURCH AND COMMUNITY EVENTS:

First Presbyterian Work Day at the Gatesville Care Center is the first Monday of each month

****SPECIAL ANNOUCEMENTS FOR JANUARY****

INSTALLATION OF ELDERS. The Class of 2014 will be presented for

installation and anointing during the worship service January 8, 2012.

The members of that class are Betty Bartlett, David Byrom, and Linda Davis.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING. A called meeting of the Congregation is scheduled for January 22 immediately following the worship service. At the meeting the approved Church Budget for 2012 will be presented for information purposes, the Terms of Call will be presented for approval, and each Committee Chairperson of the Session will make a brief presentation of their activities.

SUNDAY EVENING CLASS

Pastor Buddy will present a class entitled, "Presbyterianism? What thuh....?" OR "How do you spell Presbyterianism?" over a three night period (January 15, 22, & 29) beginning at 5:00 PM and lasting for about an hour to an hour and a half. It will cover a brief history of the Church, Presbyterianism, what Presbyterians believe and go not believe, and what our Presbyterian Church looks like today. Light refreshments will be available and all are welcome regardless of your length of time and experience in the Church.

NEW FEATURE - “COMMITTEE SPOTLIGHT”

Hello! This is Mandy and I am the chair of the CONGREGATIONAL LIFE AND MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE, other members of this committee are: Beverly Billings, Sheila Necessary, Linda Davis, Dolores England, Sondra May and Poniece Tippit. For 2011 our committee has organized several social events, such as the Easter Breakfast and Scholarship Party, we have updated the Church Roster, and coordinated the New Picture Directory with Will and Carol Kacy. Currently we are working on a “Welcome Program” for visitors to our church, and are organizing a dinner outing in January. We are looking for a volunteer to head-up a “Book Club” because many members have shown an interest in this. We welcome any comments and ideas for our projects and new ideas for social events for our church, please contact a committee member with your input. Mandy

then this is a great way to contribute to the worship of God. Just pick a Sunday,

sign up (sheet is on the bulletin board in the hallway), and everything is provided

for you.
